On February 26th, we gathered for something brand new at Dutcher Crossing Winery — and what a wonderful evening it was. Our very first Sips & Stories book club meet-up brought together great books, exceptional wine, and thoughtful conversation in the heart of the winery.
Sips & Stories is a quarterly gathering created to celebrate the joy of reading alongside the pleasure of sharing a glass of wine. Each meet-up features a curated book selection paired with wines and light bites inspired by the themes of the story — creating an immersive, relaxed, and inspiring experience.

For our inaugural discussion, we dove into The Widow Clicquot: The Story of a Champagne Empire and the Woman Who Ruled It. This fascinating biography sparked lively conversation about ambition, resilience, innovation, and the remarkable woman behind one of the world’s most iconic Champagne houses. It felt especially fitting to explore a story centered on a pioneering woman in the wine world while seated together in our own woman-owned winery, glasses in hand.

Whether guests came having read every page or simply ready to sip and listen, the discussion was engaging, welcoming, and filled with shared insights. The room buzzed with conversation, laughter, and connection — exactly what we hoped Sips & Stories would become.
